What do I do if I test positive for COVID-19?

If you test positive for COVID-19, it's crucial to make informed decisions and take the necessary steps to manage your health challenges. Seeking early diagnosis and consulting with a healthcare provider can guide you through the available treatment options. Our urgent care services are here to support you.

We offer the possibility of Paxlovid prescription (nirmatrelvir tablets; ritonavir tablets) if you are COVID positive and meet the medical guidelines.  Paxlovid has been shown to reduce hospitalizations and death from COVID-19 infections.  It is given to patients who are at higher risk for disease progression.  Not everyone is eligible to receive Paxlovid and it is dependent on the medical provider you will see.  Generally, older individuals, unvaccinated or who have other higher risk medical illnesses are at higher risk for developing COVID hospitalizations and or death. Please see the CDC website for more information.

Paxlovid prescription consists of taking 2 pink tablets or 150 mg nirmatrelvir and one white-ish tablet of 100mg ritonavir in the morning and again in the evening by mouth with water and or food for five days.

Side effects of Paxlovid include: Allergic reaction, Liver disease, and others.  Conflicts with other medications do exist and it is important to tell your medical provider all the medications you are currently taking.

When Should I Be Tested?

  •  If you are experiencing any symptoms (cough, fever, body aches, shortness of breath, diarrhea, nausea/vomiting, loss of smell, headache)
  • Potential exposure to a ill individual.
